01How a UPI QR works
A UPI QR encodes a payment link in the format upi://pay?pa=yourid@bank&pn=Your%20Business&am=1180.00&cu=INR. pa is your UPI ID, pn your name, am the amount and cu the currency. Any UPI app can scan it.
02Adding it yourself
- Get a business UPI ID from your bank or payment app.
- Generate a QR from the link above with the invoice amount.
- Place it near the total on your invoice, with the text 'Scan to pay with any UPI app'.
- Add the invoice number in the note field (
tn) so you can match payments.
03Or let your CRM do it
SuperForge's Commerce Forge adds a UPI QR to every invoice automatically, with the right amount and invoice number, so you don't create one by hand.
04Reconciliation tips
- Ask customers to keep the invoice number in the payment note.
- Mark invoices paid the same day.
- Review unpaid invoices every Monday.
05Questions
Is it safe to put a UPI QR on an invoice?
Yes. A UPI QR only lets people send money to your UPI ID; it can't take money from you.
Can the QR include the amount?
Yes. Add the am parameter so the amount is filled in automatically.
